The Rhodesian Forces Memorial Committee remembers the fallen in memorial service at Dickie Fritz
The memorial service was held on Remembrance Day on November 11.
The Dickie Fritz Shellhole in Edenvale hosted the Annual Rhodesian Forces Memorial and Parade on November 10 in remembrance of the fallen.
In tradition, members laid wreaths to commemorate the fallen brothers and also included a march.
Alan Strachan, chairperson of the Rhodesian Forces Memorial Committee said the service is held in conjunction with Remembrance Day.

He said the service and wreath-laying ceremony is to give thanks to those who have lost their lives.
“We remember those who have sacrificed their lives along with the many civilians of all races,” said Alan.
Col John L Redfern from the Flame Lily Foundation and Rhodesia Association of South Africa gave a speech after the parade march.

“I am very proud to see so many Rhodesian’s in the parade. I am proud of each and every one of you. I thank you. I hope you think of those who you would’ve liked to see on the parade with you,” said John.
The service included prayers, sermons, singing of hymns, one minute of silence, blessings and a toast.
