Eastleigh Primary School learners Vhutshilo and Tshepiso Manamela get ready to open a Christmas cracker at the year-end party held at Stoneridge Papachinos on November 2.
Twenty-two learners from Eastleigh Primary School’s feeding scheme paid a visit to Stoneridge Papachinos, where they enjoyed a small party.
The annual event was hosted on December 2 by the school to bring some festive cheer to some of the school’s learners.
The school’s principal, Belinda Cooke-Tonnesen, said the school cares for over 30 learners through its feeding scheme.
She said this year’s event was organised by the staff of the school with the assistance of Papachinos co-owner Vernon Gouveia and Hillside Community Church.
Cooke-Tonnesen believes the feeding scheme has been operational for over 30 years.
“I have been principal of the school for 17 years, and the scheme was already running before I became principal.”
