Former Springbok glider manager turns 90
Brian Stevens along with his wife, Ros, were Bedfordview residents for 22 years.
Brian Stevens, a former Springbok glider pilot and now resident at Rand Aid’s Inyoni Creek Retirement Village, turned 90 years old recently.
Stevens was a glider pilot for 30 years.
He managed the Springbok gliding team for a number of years, during which time he went to France, Germany, the USA and Finland for tournaments.

Gliding also earned him a national and world record.
He is also an electrical engineer by trade, where he spent 30 years working at a steel plant.
Now, Stevens’ hobbies include fishing, hunting and woodwork.
Stevens lived in the same home in Bedfordview for 22 years and has been married to his wife, Ros, for 57 years.

The couple moved to Inyoni Creek in March 2019 and love living in the beautiful village.
They have three children and eight grandchildren.
To celebrate his birthday, a garden party was held where 45 guests enjoyed a lamb on the spit.
