Multi-vehicle collision on N3 North leaves 11 injured
“One patient was in critical condition, one in serious but stable condition and the others experienced minor injuries,”
A total of 16 vehicles were involved in a multi-vehicle collision on the N3 North, just before Gillooly’s Interchange on March 5.
Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS) media liaison William Ntladi said the damage to the 16 vehicles varied from serious to minor.
Ntladi added that 11 patients sustained injuries in the collision.
“One patient was in critical condition, one in serious but stable condition and the others experienced minor injuries,” said Ntladi.
Ntladi said the patients were taken to various hospitals in ambulances, including municipal vehicles.
As a result of the collision, four of the five lanes were closed off to traffic.
“Lanes were re-opened slowly until about 7pm, with only a truck left to be removed,” said Ntladi.
