Edenvale SAPS appealed to business owners to ensure that their shops are securely locked after closing hours.

Sgt Jacob Mashile, Edenvale SAPS spokesperson, said between March 9 and 18 there were multiple business burglaries in Edenvale.
From CCTV footage Mashile has seen, he said the new modus operandi sees suspects forcing the front doors of businesses open.
Mashile said most of the burglaries occurred at night while there were fewer people on the streets.
He said although several investigations are underway not many arrests have been made.
“If community members have any information or CCTV footage of business burglaries they must share it with the police.
“Business owners must invest in alarm systems and strengthen existing security.”
To try to curb the crimes, Edenvale SAPS has increased visible policing in all sectors and areas where many businesses are situated.
