Checkers Hyper Edenvale has closed following a positive Covid-19 test at the store.

The NEWS visited the store the morning to confirm the closure.

A professional decontamination company has since been called to sanitise and deep clean the store.

Management at the store have informed the National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD) and the Department of Health.

“An employee screening programme supported by the company’s mobile clinic was immediately put in place. Those who had close contact are now self-quarantining for 14 days,” Shoprite Holdings stated.

The store will be reopened in consultation with the Provincial Department of Health.
