BCPF donations platform is live

In an attempt to mitigate the shortfall in finances, the BCPF recently joined forces with Unity Values to develop an online donations platform.

Covid-19 negatively affected the fund-raising initiatives of the Bedfordview CPF.

Chairperson of the forum, Gavin Henry, said not being able to raise funds has put pressure on the organisation.

“We need to maintain the structures which have been put in place to reduce crime in our neighbourhood, especially the LPR camera network.”

“The platform gives residents various options to make donations to the Bedfordview CPF,” Henry said.

He added that the donations will aid the BCPF in maintaining the existing 43 cameras in the LPR Camera Network.

“We also hope to grow the network. We have seen the benefit of having our suburb protected by this infrastructure and it would be a great pity if we were to find ourselves having to make the decision of which cameras to take offline,” Henry said.

The cost for licensing per camera each month is R550.

Henry said donations made are tax-deductible and residents will receive an automatically generated Section 18A tax certificate when donations are made online.

Residents can visit www.bcpf.co.za/donate to make a contribution towards the BCPF.
