Spread the Christmas cheer with Khanyisa
As per tradition, the trust is preparing its Christmas hampers for its beneficiaries in the hopes of making this year's festive period special for them.
With the holidays around the corner, Khanyisa Trust is set to close its doors for several weeks.
The trust will be closed from December 18 to January 11.
As per tradition, the trust is preparing its Christmas hampers for its beneficiaries in the hopes of making this year’s festive period special for them.
Secretary of Khanyisa Trust Lorraine von Hoesslin said the hamper contains a variety of groceries to supplement their meals during this time.
“We hope to prepare 120 hampers that will be given out on December 17, the day before the centre closes,” she said.

She appealed to the community to assist with the following donations:
• 1kg maize meal – two per hamper, a total of 240 needed
• 1kg rice – two per hamper, a total of 240 needed
• 1kg sugar – one per hamper, a total of 120 needed
• 410g tinned baked beans – two per hamper, a total of 240 needed
• 400g tinned fish – two per hamper, a total of 240 needed
• 300g tinned corned beef – two per hamper, a total of 240 needed
• 125g biscuits – two per hamper, a total of 240 needed
• 500g macaroni/spaghetti – two per hamper, a total of 240 needed
• Cup-a-soup – five per hamper, a total of 600 needed
• Any mixed sweets
• 15g Sachets of powdered cooldrink mix– five per hamper, a total of 600 needed.
“We would appreciate any contributions to our Christmas hampers.”
Donations can be dropped off at the centre located at 58 Seventh Avenue any weekday between 12 noon and 3.30pm.
