Victim accosted at Edenvale filling station

One of the suspects appears to remove jewellery from the female victim while the other suspects raid the car belonging to the victim.

The Edenvale SAPS has confirmed that a case of robbery was opened following an incident that took place at a filling station on Linksfield Road.

Last week, a video was posted on social media showing several armed suspects approaching a vehicle at a filling station at the intersection of Linksfield Road and Elm Street.

Spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS Jacob Mashile told the NEWS the incident occurred on July 3, but the video was timestamped July 4 at 20.21.

In the one-and-a-half minute clip, a silver vehicle can be seen pulling up behind a white vehicle parked at the convenience store.

Initially, two suspects exit the vehicle and approach the driver of the car, forcing him to the ground.

Two other suspects approach the passenger of the vehicle as she cowers on the ground.

One of the suspects appears to remove jewellery from the female victim while the other suspects raid the car belonging to the victim.

The suspects take several items from the victim’s vehicle, including what appears to be a grocery bag.

Mashile said four to five suspects are believed to have been involved in the incident.

He added the police are investigating the matter and have opened a case of robbery with a firearm.
