Edenvale Police Station communications officer Sgt Jacob Mashile said although crime is under control in precinct, police rely on information from the community to combat crime.
He said this information is used by the police when conducting patrols and visible policing operations in the community.
“If community members notice any suspicious activity, they need to report it to the police as soon as possible,” said Mashile.
He said a quick and easy way for residents and business owners to do this is to have Edenvale’s sector numbers on speed dial.
Community members can phone 071 675 6841 to report matters in sectors one and three, while 071 675 6844 can be called to report matters in sectors two and four.
