Fundraisers needed at Edenvale SPCA

Applicants must have a passion for animals and be dedicated to fighting cruelty against animals.

Edenvale SPCA is looking for committed volunteers to join its fundraising team.

Fundraising is one of the Edenvale SPCA’s biggest responsibilities and the society relies on the support of the community.

Comprised entirely of volunteers, the Edenvale SPCA management committee is responsible for the governance and management of the branch.

The subcommittee and committee members are responsible for keeping the doors of the SPCA open.

They ensure that the branch is properly managed and enforce all rules, policies and the law.

Some responsibilities for fund-raisers include:
•Active involvement at the branch.
•Coordination of all fundraising activities on a regular basis.
•Implementation of marketing strategies, working with the social media team for approval of artwork that displays the SPCA logo and name.
•Coordination of donation tins at various sites.
• Participate in management discussions and decisions of the society when requested.
• Attend monthly meetings and correspond via email and WhatsApp on a regular basis.

Interaction with the animals is not necessary but can be arranged with the manager of the Edenvale branch between Mondays and Thursdays.

Applicants do not need to reside in Edenvale but must take into consideration that meetings are held at the branch.
The SPCA is located on Bhacus Road in Sebenza.

Additionally, all fundraising is conducted in the greater Edenvale area.

Although fundraiser applicants do not need to have previous experience in marketing/ fundraising, work done with animal welfare organisations would be advantageous.

Applicants interested must have a passion for all animals and be dedicated to fighting cruelty against animals.

Similarly, they should not be part of organisations that do not share the aims, objectives and principles of the SPCA.

Specific requirements for applicants include:

• Having no criminal history.
• Being able to provide a police clearance certificate.
• Their home is subject to inspections and in accordance with the SPCA rules and policies.
