More power outages expected in parts of Ekurhuleni this Saturday

Eskoms maintenance to have lights off for eleven hours with in addition of water supply issues on the day.

Residents in parts of Germiston can expect to be without power when Eskom conducts equipment maintenance this weekend.

Set to be conducted on September 17, the maintenance will affect multiple areas in greater Germiston.

Following the current load-shedding schedule in the city, Ward 36 Clr Wendy Morgan urged residents to be aware of the expected power outage.

She said the outage is expected to start at 07:00 and end at 18:00.

Affected areas include Johnson and Mathey ,Gerdview, Germiston Ext 3,13,15,18 and 27, Fishers Hill, Primrose, Primrose ext 2,4,6 and 7, Symhurst, Wannenburg, Woodmere, Knights, Sunny rock and extensions, Wilbart, Solheim, Meadowbrook and extensions, Meadowdale, Fishers Hill, Marlands, Homestead, Rustivia Park, Woodmere, Tedstoneville, South Germiston Ext 2,4,7,8 and 9, Germiston Ext 8 and 9, Activia Park, Rustivia, Barvallen, Henville and extensions, Sunny ridge, Wannenburghoogte, Kruinhof, Symhurst, Wychwood, Malvern East, Simmerfield, Dania Park, Primrose Hill and Primrose CBD.

Morgan said Eskom will conduct maintenance in areas affected by the problematic restoration of power failures.

“Due to the power outage, residents can also expect a water supply issue on the day as it will affect pumps,” said Morgan.

“Please treat all electrical connection as live whilst maintenance is ongoing.”
