Two men jailed 15 years each for armed robbery in Bedfordview
The Germiston Magistrate’s Court sentenced two suspects to 15 years’ imprisonment each after they robbed a man at gunpoint in Bedfordview before being swiftly arrested by police.
Two suspects, Jason Hlumbane (29) and Ngasha Monumi (30), were each sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment for armed robbery.
Bedfordview SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Lillian Modiga reported that the suspects were sentenced at the Germiston Magistrate’s Court on February 9, with no bail.
She further stated that on July 29, 2024, at about 13:15, the victim was approached by two black males in a silver Toyota Quest on Florence Road in Bedfordview.

They threatened him with a firearm, demanding his belongings, and fled with his cellphone, cash, and a bag containing other items.
“The victim flagged down a police van, and the Bedfordview crime prevention team pursued the suspects, apprehending them and recovering the stolen items and a firearm,” Modiga recounted.
She said the case had been investigated by Detective Warrant Officer Albert Bongani Makhoba.
