Little Eden Society welcomes spring donations

“Our organisation needs donations throughout the year as they assist us to give quality care to our residents."

With spring in the air, Little Eden Society encouraged community members to partner with the NPO and donate any second-hand goods when decluttering their homes.

With 300 children and adults living with intellectual disability, the Charity Shop is responsible for generating 6% of the R51 million required annually to keep the doors open.

Currently, the Little Eden Charity Shop is extremely low on donations.

Specifically, it needs clothing items electrical goods, furniture, books, kitchenware, linen, appliances, toys, bric-a-brac and any other pre-loved items the community wishes to donate.Little Eden has two charity shops, one in Edenvale and the other in Klopperpark.

Charity Shop manager, Khodani Muthige, explained that when donations are received the needs of the residents are looked at first

Any surplus stock is then sent to the shop to generate income for the society.

“Our organisation needs donations throughout the year as they assist us to give quality care to our residents,” said Khodani.

“We encourage everyone to think of us this spring when decluttering their house,” he said.

The society is home to 300, mostly previously abandoned, children and adults with profound intellectual disability.
