Elderlies at Ron Smith centre have fun
After a joyful morning of beautiful music, residents and staff were treated delicious strawberry cheesecake.
Renowned SA tenor Chris Coetzer made a return visit to Rand Aid’s Ron Smith Care Centre (RSCC) for the centre’s Mother’s Day tea.
His visit delighted the residents.
Earlier this year, Chris performed as part of the care centre’s Valentine’s Day celebrations where he captivated the audience with his voice and personality.

As he welcomed his audience to the Mother’s Day event, Chris paid tribute to the care centre and its wonderful residents and staff.

He said said that returning to RSCC was like ‘coming home’ for him.
“Chris’ Mother’s Day performance exceeded expectations,” said RSCC’s manager of recreational programmes, Debbie Christen.
“Chris once again uplifted residents and staff alike, with renditions of That’s Amoré, Kumbaya, Silver Threads & Golden Needles and many other songs.
“He raised heartbeats with Nat King Cole’s romantic song, Unforgettable, and got everyone clapping, dancing and moving with Miriam Makeba’s song, Pata Pata.”

Debbie said Chris asked everyone to join hands and raised goosebumps when he sang his final spirit-filled number, You Raise Me Up.
