Help police with information about body of baby discovered in Edenvale
Police believe there is a possibility the child was alive before it died on the pavement.
Edenvale SAPS is appealing to community members for assistance to provide more information regarding a body that was dumped on August 26.
According to Edenvale’s detective services Warrant Officer Frans Madibana the body was that of a fully formed child.
The child was dumped on the corner of Twelfth Avenue and De We Street near an open drain.

He said the body was dumped in a black bag, which was noticed by a community member who reported the matter to the authorities.
Police believe there is a possibility the child was alive before it died on the pavement.
He said a witness, who is not willing to come forward, said they saw two women drop off the plastic bag at the location where the body was found.
Madibana said there is also a block of flats near the location and as such, believes someone must have witnessed something.

“Someone must be aware of a woman who was pregnant but no longer is,” said Madibana.
