“It is something not many people achieve.

“We have had a lot of help from the GDE, but we still need community support.

Much fun was had at Eastleigh Primary School when they celebrated 85 years.

“We need the community to see what Eastleigh is about and that whatever we do is for our learners because they are our number one priority,” explained Muller.

She said their biggest challenge is that the building needs much maintenance, from painting to the structural part of things, especially the roofing.

“If any businesses would like to assist, we would appreciate it,” added Muller.

The school’s marketing and public relations officer, Bjorn Vorster, said, “As the oldest primary school in the area, it is nice to bring the community together, which was the event’s aim – to get together and celebrate this milestone.”

Learners enjoyed a fun-filled day at Eastleigh Primary School’s birthday bash.

Vorster and the head of the entertainment committee, Astrid Bakker, who has been with the school for 12 years, put the event together.

The locals came out for some fun in the sun.
