Little Eden Society hosts Christmas Market and Fete on November 18

"Thank you to our community for their unwavering support; we've been able to fulfil our mission for the past 56 years and hope to do so for another 50 years."

Little Eden Society invites the community to join it at the relaunch of its annual Christmas Market and FĂŞte.

Set to take place on November 18, the market hopes to be a day of festive joy, entertainment and celebration.

Public relations and communications coordinator of Little Eden Society, Gaahele Mokgoro, said, “Proceeds from the market will go directly to support the society’s mission of caring for 300 children and adults living with profound intellectual disability.”

She said with the festive season approaching, the society encourages everyone to share a day filled with entertainment, delicious food, refreshing drinks, social connections and lots of fun.

Issac Matlala, Nadine Mason and Lindiwe Kadini enjoy a market held previously.

The market will feature over 70 stalls, providing something for all.

A magical wonderland adorned with novelty ornaments can be explored by those who hope to experience wonder.

Those at the event can look forward to finding great gifts, and delectable treats and can look forward to the NPO’s residents singing Christmas Carols.

Gaahele said this is an event that should not be missed.

On the day there will also be various live performances by local artists.

The CEO of Little Eden Xelda Rohrbeck extended an invitation to the local community. She encouraged them to support the market.

Xelda said joyous festivities await visitors and highlighted the Christmas carols, sung by residents, as the best part of the market.

She emphasised the critical role this event plays in raising much-needed funds that directly contribute to providing a loving home for their residents.

“At Little Eden, once we admit a resident, we take full responsibility for their medical, physical, emotional and spiritual needs,” she stated.

Xelda encouraged market-goers to bring packs of disposable nappies in all sizes as they are an essential daily need for their residents.

“Thank you to our community for their unwavering support, we have been able to fulfil this mission for the past 56 years and hope to do so for another 50 years,” said Xelda.
