Centenary celebrations shared at care centre

Birthday celebrations were in the air when Thembalami Care Centre celebrated Georgina Faver’s 100th birthday.

Georgina’s birthday was on November 4. She arrived at the lunch table to find festive balloons decorating her seating place.

Staff members arrived bearing a special birthday cake.

Her son, who lives overseas, sent her a gift basket and during a video call with him, everyone sang happy birthday.

Mid-way through November, at the care centre’s monthly birthday bash, on November 15 Georgina sat at the VIP table with six other residents who celebrated their birthdays in the month.

Residents enjoyed cake, snacks and live entertainment provided by by singer Ansa Naude.
