With the R22 500 boast received from New Day Church, Edenvale's Hospice manager Marlene Hooper said bonuses were guaranteed for staff this year.

An early Christmas gift for the Edenvale Care Centre Hospice arrived as they received R22 500 from the New Day Church, Edenvale.

“The girls will be paid in December. Last year they only received half of their salaries and the other half in January, as there was no money available.

Edenvale Care Centre Hospice receives much-needed boast from New Day Church Edenvale.

“I love it when such good things happen. This is God sent and they have done so much for us,” stated Hooper.

The donations are raised from the Movember campaign.

Marcel Bestel, an elder from the church, said they have been running the initiative for years in support of the Hospice.

New Day Church Edenvale has challenged other faith-based community organisations to either match the amount or top it.

“Whatever we can give them is critical as they do such important caring work and it is part of the community to give back and say thank you for all the incredible work that they do.

“A big thank you to all the men at the New Day Church and their supportive wives,” he said.
