Month of love brings smiles and laughter at Ron Smith Care Centre

South African tenor Chris Coetzer mesmerised guests at Ron Smith Care Centre’s recent Valentine’s party.

From his opening song to the last musical notes of the morning, Coetzer captivated residents and staff with his voice and personality.

The event was hosted at the Rand Aid Centre on February 16.

During the programme, Coetzer called all the staff to come up to the front of the room where he acknowledged and thanked them for showing up every day with a smile on their face to provide loving care to the residents, despite having their own problems.

Following this he then launched into the Clap-Clap song and taught everyone some fun movements to the music bringing smiles and laughter all around.

Coetzer’s parting message to the audience was to ‘Live your life to the fullest!’

Following the musical performance a tea and delicious treats were had by residents.

“This was a Valentine’s party to remember,” said Debbie Christen, the manager of recreational programmes at the centre.

She said when staff and residents think back on the day they will remember the beautiful decorations and how they felt on the day.

“Most of all they will remember how Chris uplifted them and warmed their hearts with hope, love, peace, and joy.”
