Residents outraged by bad service at Bedfordview Clinic
Residents’ allegations include being made to queue outside the clinic’s premises for long hours without any explanation from clinic staff, being short-staffed and corruption.
Residents said they are gatvol with the “poor service” at Bedfordview Clinic.
Allegations range from residents being made to queue outside the clinic’s premises for long hours without any explanation from the clinic staff to being short-staffed and corruption by some foreign nationals who pay the staff to be attended to.
Concerns over the premise’s poor state have led the residents to question the hygiene and safety standards and overall patient comfort.

This comes months after the Bedfordview Edenvale News first published an article about residents sounding alarms over the clinic’s state.
Patient and former Bedfordview resident Bongiwe Zwane expressed dissatisfaction with the level of service at the clinic because she had been there twice in the past month.
“We get there early in the morning, and they make us sit and wait outside while the staff do nothing, and the chairs are empty inside. They will start work at about 11:00.
“Come 13:00, they go to lunch, and patients have no choice but to wait for them to return to get any assistance,” stated Zwane.
When she visited the clinic on April 22 with her three-year-old, she said people again waited outside with doors locked, including the security gate.
“Some people were let in secretly while many of us had to wait outside without any communication. I had to ask why people were not attended to, only to be told they were short-staffed,” said Zwane.

She also cited unprofessional behaviour and inadequate management of patient care.
“Something has to be done. The staff and clinic need a wake-up call. They don’t care about people and forget they are there to assist them.”
