New CEO for Flower Foundation Retirement Homes takes reins

“Together, we will nurture a vibrant and supportive environment where each resident feels valued, cared for, secure and at home.”

Flower Foundation Retirement Homes has announced the appointment of its new chief executive officer (CEO) Stanley Bawden.

Pioneers in retirement living in Johannesburg for over six decades, Flower Foundation Retirement Homes offers a range of independent, assisted, and supportive living options for individuals aged 55 and older.

It remains committed to setting the benchmark for excellence in retirement living.

Bawden, who became CEO at the start of November, brings a rich background in leadership and a deep commitment to senior care, perfectly aligned with Flower Foundation’s mission to provide secure, supportive, and enriching retirement environments.

Bawden joined Flower Foundation following 14 years with The Living Link NPO, an organisation dedicated to enhancing the lives of intellectually disabled and learning-challenged adults.

His time and experience there were instrumental in supporting high-quality life outcomes for both the students at the training facility and residents at the independent living village.

Bawden brings the same commitment to Flower Foundation with a vision to expand programmes that will foster residents’ well-being, safety, and independence while deepening community engagement across its villages.

“We are thrilled to welcome Stanley Bawden to the Flower Foundation family,” said Nombuso Ramokgopa, chairperson of the Flower Foundation’s management board.

To introduce himself to residents and staff, Bawden took part in informal meet-and-greet sessions across all Flower Foundation villages during his first week.

The gatherings provided an opportunity for residents and staff to connect personally with the new CEO and share insights into each community’s unique qualities.

“I am honoured to join Flower Foundation and look forward to working alongside such a dedicated team,” said Bawden.

“Together, we will nurture a vibrant and supportive environment where each resident feels valued, cared for, secure and at home.”
