Crawford International Honours Top Achievers at Matric 2024 Ceremony
Crawford International celebrated the achievements of its Matric Class of 2024 at a ceremony held at Avianto Estate, recognising the dedication and hard work of its top-performing students.

The event brought together high achievers from across the ADvTECH group, acknowledging their success and the collective effort of educators, mentors, and families.
According to BusinessTech, Crawford International Sandton College has been ranked among the top 10 best-performing schools in South Africa, securing the number three position overall, and is the second-best performing private co-ed school in the country. This ranking reflects the school’s commitment to academic excellence and its approach to developing well-rounded students who are prepared for the future.
At this year’s awards, four Crawford International students achieved ten distinctions each, the highest number in the ADvTECH group since 2016. Among the top achievers was Diya Ambaram from Crawford International La Lucia, who earned the highest results in the group with a 95.38% average. Connor O’Callaghan from Crawford International Lonehill followed with a 95.15% average, and Caitlin Hutcheson secured third place with a 94.23% average. Of the 30 Top Achiever Awards presented across the ADvTECH group, 22 were awarded to Crawford International students.
During the ceremony, students paid tribute to the teachers who played a key role in their academic journeys, selecting educators to recognise for their guidance and support. Teacher awards were also presented in appreciation of the role they play in shaping student success.
Ms Desiree Hugo, ADvTECH Schools Division Head of Academics and Managing Director of Niche Schools, addressed the students, quoting Nelson Mandela: “Do not judge me by my successes, judge me by how many times I fell down and got back up again.” She reminded them that challenges are part of life, and that perseverance will define their future. She also added a light-hearted note, encouraging them to enjoy their youth before the responsibilities of adulthood take over.
Dr Siza Majola, Managing Director of Crawford International, spoke about the significance of the occasion, saying, “Today, we not only celebrate the exceptional achievements of these students but also recognise the support of their families, teachers, and mentors. Their success is a testament to the collective efforts of all who have contributed to their journey.”
As the Matric Class of 2024 embarks on its next chapter, Crawford International extends its best wishes for their future success. Families interested in experiencing Crawford’s approach to education are invited to attend the Open Day on 8 February 2024.
