St Andrew’s matrics expand knowledge on quantum science
Matric learners from St Andrew's School for Girls learn more about nuclear and particle physics at MIT.
Five matriculants from St Andrew’s School for Girls had the opportunity to participate in a week-long Quantum Science and Engineering programme hosted by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), ISASA, and St John’s College in January.
The school’s marketer, Brandon Townsend, said the programme was designed exclusively for Grade 12 learners from ISASA-affiliated schools.

“The programme featured immersive lectures by MIT’s undergraduate and postgraduate students on nuclear physics, particle physics, quantum theory, and quantum technology.
“Beyond the lectures, the learners showcased their creativity and understanding by developing and presenting projects that explored these advanced topics from their unique perspectives,” said Townsend.
