Bedfordview golfers secure victory at Gauteng league

Balderstone Sports Institute’s junior academy golfers excelled when they competed in the finals of the Gauteng High School’s Super League.
Mongi Masuku, Shaka Kariisa, Connor Olfsen and Mpho Makhado took to Royal Johannesburg on February 17 where they secured a win.
Following their performance on the green, the quartet secured a BSI a place in the play-offs.

According to BSI’s head of marketing, Roger King, the team required a win to guarantee qualification.
“Their resilience was tested while playing in miserable, cold and rainy conditions,” said King.
Olfsen and Masuku, who shot level par in those conditions, were congratulated for their performance.
“The final standings saw our young side finish second in the league, just one point off the top spot.”
The playoffs will be held on February 28 at Randpark Golf Course.
