Morning market brings fun at Tarentaal Village
There is a white elephant stall run by the village, stalls at which residents sell items and some outside stallholders who sell mainly shoes and clothing.
Tarentaal residents and staff were given the opportunity to do some shopping without leaving the village at the monthly market held on April 11.
The Rand Aid Retirement Village’s morning market is held on the second Friday of each month.

Tea and coffee, scones, toasted sandwiches and flapjacks can be bought, with the profits going into the residents’ central fund.
Lively music adds a festive atmosphere, which is heightened when the ice cream van’s jingle announces its arrival.
“It’s a popular morning and the residents thoroughly enjoy it,” said Tarentaal village manager Tammy Neilson.
“Residents from the other Rand Aid villages often pop along too, allowing a chance for greater interaction.”
