Eastgate unveils e-hailing lounge to improve shopper transport access
The initiative improves transport convenience for shoppers and reflects the mall’s commitment to seamless, modern customer experiences.
Eastgate Shopping Centre has introduced a dedicated waiting lounge to provide a more comfortable and convenient experience for passengers using e-hailing services.
The new space, situated at entrance two, reflects the centre’s commitment to improving access and transport ease while making the overall journey comfortable for its shoppers.
Designed to offer a seamless connection between shopping and travel, the lounge features ample seating, free Wi-Fi, charging points and space for shopping trolleys.

Whether customers are finishing up errands or simply waiting for their pickup, the lounge will provide a relaxed setting in a high-traffic area of the centre.
“At Eastgate, we understand the importance of a seamless transportation experience for our customers,” said general manager Saadiyah Kahn.
“The e-hailing lounge is just one of the services we are working on improving in our transport links to and from the centre, as we understand that ease of entry and exit plays a role in the overall shopping experience.”
The lounge is open daily from 07:00 until 22:00 and is located near one of the centre’s busiest entrances, allowing easy access for both drivers and passengers.
The initiative forms part of a broader strategy to enhance customer touchpoints and create well-considered spaces that respond to evolving shopper needs.
