Young artists shine at St. Lidia’s Nursery School’s first art exhibition
Edenvale’s St. Lidia’s Nursery School brought art education to life by hosting its first-ever art exhibition, giving learners the chance to explore famous artists and showcase their creativity while raising funds for school improvements.
Edenvale-based St. Lidia’s Nursery School recently hosted its very first art exhibition, giving learners a hands-on experience of what it means to be an artist.
Art plays a central role in the school’s curriculum, with children learning about iconic artists such as Picasso, Monet and Salvador Dalí.
Learners have also explored world-renowned institutions like the Louvre and other famous art museums as part of their studies.

To bring the learning to life, the school set out to teach learners about the process behind hosting an art exhibition and how artists make a living from their work.
Funds raised during the exhibition were used to make improvements at the school. Some of the proceeds went toward adding fun new items to the playground, giving learners a visible reward for their creativity and effort.
