Proteas cricket stars shine at Cricket South Africa Awards at Emperors Palace

The Proteas women’s and men’s cricket teams gathered at Emperors Palace for the prestigious Cricket South Africa Awards, where standout players like Temba Bavuma and Lara Goodall received top honours.

The Proteas women’s and men’s cricket teams recently paid a visit to Emperors Palace for this year’s Cricket South Africa Awards.

After attending the CSA Pathway Awards in the morning, players from the two national teams took a timeout to meet and have their photographs taken with a few of Peermont and Emperors Palace’s executives and management.

During the main CSA Awards function in the evening, Luus, who also plays for the Fidelity Titans, won the Hollywoodbets Pro 50 player of the season award.

Both Wolvaardt and Kapp were nominated for the women’s T20 international player of the year and SA women’s player of the year awards. Teammate Nonkulululeko Mlaba walked off with the honours on both occasions.

Wolvaardt and Kapp were also nominees for the women’s one-day international player of the year, but Annerie Dercksen scooped this award.

After captaining the Proteas men’s cricket team to a historic ICC World Test Championship victory earlier this year at Lord’s cricket groud, it was only fitting that captain Temba Bavuma won the test player of the year and the SA fans’ player of the year awards.
