Jeppe Girls celebrates Rob Aitchison’s legacy

The school celebrated Rob Aitchison’s dedication and vision with a commemorative bench and plaque recognising his impact on infrastructure, STEM, and community initiatives.

In Term Two, Jeppe High School for Girls gathered to celebrate and honour Rob Aitchison, a man whose dedication, vision and passion have left an enduring mark on the school community.

Aitchison has played a key role in numerous transformative projects at Jeppe Girls, including the development of the Media/STEM Centre, the opening of Somerset House, the installation of solar panels, the Fun Run, and many other initiatives that have advanced the school’s infrastructure and innovation.

He has been a driving force behind these achievements, always championing progress with unwavering commitment.

Having first joined the Jeppe Girls family as a parent, Aitchison became an active member of the Parents’ Association (PA), contributing meaningfully to school events such as the Matric Dance, MA Dance, and other community-building activities.

The PA is now led by his sister, Michelle Smith, who continues the family’s legacy of service.

In recognition of his extraordinary contributions, Aitchison was honoured with a commemorative bench and a plaque engraved with the name “Aitchison”, a lasting tribute to a name that has become synonymous with dedication and generosity at Jeppe Girls.
