Strong turnout at Edenvale senior citizens’ morning market

The society has expressed appreciation to the public after a well-attended morning market, which helps fund services for Edenvale’s senior community.

The Edenvale Senior Citizens’ Society thanks the public who supported its recent morning market at the Edenvale Community Centre on November 8.

Executive committee member Linda Ranwell said the weather was fine, and there was a good turnout.

“Because we are usually open only on weekdays, these Saturday markets we hold three times a year are important to try to sell the lovely goods people donate,” explained Linda.

She said the society has a small secondhand shop open every weekday between 09:00 and 12:00.

Mother and daughter Jennifer and Leona Momsen sell handmade items.

“We rely on these markets to sell goods to those people who work all week. Our team of volunteers work hard trying to raise funds for the elderly of Edenvale and surrounding areas,” said Linda.

The next market is in March and will be advertised closer to the date.

Edenvale Senior Citizens’ Society volunteers at the market are Lorna Bristol, Ansje Giltrow and Pat Gain.
