Paws bring festive cheer to Ron Smith Care Centre residents
Therapy dog visit sparks memories for seniors and smiles ahead of Christmas.
Residents at Ron Smith Care Centre enjoyed a special festive visit in the week leading up to Christmas, swapping the sound of sleigh bells for the gentle patter of paws.
Long-time Elphin Lodge retirement village staff member Tanya Switala, who was on leave at the time, visited the centre on December 18 with her daughter, Caitlynn, and their family dog, Chloe.
The trio walked through the care centre, giving residents the opportunity to greet and stroke Chloe.

The visit prompted fond conversations, with many residents sharing memories of pets they had owned over the years.
