Water interruptions hit Bedfordview as City deploys emergency tankers
Low reservoir levels have led to intermittent water supply in Bedfordview, with the City of Ekurhuleni dispatching tankers to key points while urging residents to use water sparingly.
The City of Ekurhuleni has implemented emergency measures in Bedfordview following intermittent water supply caused by low reservoir levels.
According to the City, the interventions form part of efforts to manage water demand and ensure fair distribution across affected areas. Residents have reported disruptions as reservoir levels remain under pressure.
To alleviate the impact, water tankers have been stationed at several accessible points in Bedfordview. These include Protea Road in Sunnyrock near the BP garage, Klopper Park Clinic, Harmelia Shelton Pharmacy, Sizwe High School, Kruinhof Retirement Village and Essexwold Pernhust.

While broader supply challenges are also affecting Tsakani, the city confirmed that dedicated resources have been allocated to support Bedfordview residents during the interruption.

The City of Ekurhuleni has apologised for the inconvenience and said it is working to stabilise reservoir levels as soon as possible.
