The initiative, led by the city’s Women’s Directorate, brought together various stakeholders, including the police, the Department of Health and community organisations.

According to organisers, the walk formed part of ongoing efforts to raise awareness about violence and abuse against children while encouraging communities to speak out and report incidents.

Participants used the event to reinforce the message that protecting children is a shared responsibility requiring cooperation between government, law enforcement, civil society and residents.

Organisers said the campaign aimed to encourage the creation of safer environments where children can grow up free from fear, violence and abuse.

The initiative also highlighted the importance of safeguarding the rights, dignity and well-being of children across communities.
