Child protection champions honoured at annual awareness event

Social workers, police officers, child welfare organisations and corporate partners gathered to celebrate child protection achievements and strengthen collaboration in supporting vulnerable children.

The Child Guardian Unit hosted its annual event on May 28 to celebrate its second anniversary and raise awareness for Child Protection Week 2026.

Delani Hollhumer, co-founder and CEO of the Child Guardian Unit (CGU), said the organisation is dedicated to the protection, welfare, and empowerment of children and actively intervenes in cases of child abuse.

She added that the CGU also serves as a resource hub for children in crisis.
