Safety concerns put Quondam Village residents on alert

Safety concerns, including express kidnappings, were the focus of a personal safety workshop hosted at Quondam Village at the end of July.

Bedfordview CPF public relations officer James Chang and Treasurer Laila Smith presented the workshop.

Chang emphasised being vigilant and aware of one’s immediate surroundings to prevent potential threats and ensure personal safety during everyday activities.

Express kidnappings: Chang detailed the tactics commonly used by perpetrators and offered practical advice on how to avoid becoming a victim.

Situational awareness: tips on recognising and reacting to suspicious behaviour were shared to help residents stay alert and prepared.

Safety best practices: participants learned basic safety measures, such as varying daily routines and being cautious in unfamiliar environments.

Quondam Village Trust manager Neeri Stroebel said residents expressed appreciation for the critical information that heightened their awareness, leaving many feeling more informed and equipped to handle day-to-day tasks with a greater sense of security.

Stroebel added: “The workshop served as a reminder of the importance of community initiatives in promoting safety and awareness. By continuing to educate and engage residents, Quondam Village aims to foster a safer environment for all.”
