Development Description: GeT Alloys Germiston (Pty) Ltd operates a secondary foundry in accordance with an existing Atmospheric Emissions Licence (AEL).
Location: The facility is located on the Remainder of Portion 1 of the Farm Driefontein 87-IR, Germiston and 51 Shaft Road, Knights, Germiston, Gauteng Province.
Applicable Key Legislation: GeT Alloys is applying to the City of Ekurhuleni (EMM) to renew their AEL in terms of Section 47 of the National Environmental Management: Air Quality Act, 2004 (Act No. 39 of 2004) in respect of the following Listed Activities:
–Category 4: Metallurgical Industry, Subcategory 4.2: Combustion installations not used primarily for stream raising and electricity generation (except drying), and Category 4: Metallurgical Industry, Subcategory 4.4: Secondary aluminium production and alloying through the application of heat (excluding metal recovery).

All persons who wish to register as an Interested and / or Affected Party (I&AP) and to provide comments on the AEL Renewal Application, may do so in writing, to Tarryn Mouries, at the details above. The comment period is from 10 June to 10 July 2026 (30 days).

With regards to the Protection of Personal Information, please note that all personal information is being voluntarily submitted for the purposes of your participation in this environmental application process. The information will be held by Enviroprac on behalf of GeT Alloys Germiston and will be submitted to the Competent Authority for their decision on the application. Personal information may also be made available to the Appellant so that you may participate in the appeal process in the event that the decision on the application is appealed.
