Malvern artists speak about community’s support for local talent

Do artists receive sufficient support from the public?

The Malvern Got Talent show was held on October 7. The EXPRESS asked participants if artists receive sufficient support from the public. This is what they said:

Celimphilo Mabaso said, “I feel that we don’t get enough support. There are many talented youngsters in Malvern who are unknown.”
Mqhobozeli Ngcamu said, “This is the first time that the community showed us support by hosting the Malvern Got Talent show. These events must be held annually.”
Sphelele Mthethwa said, “The community does not give us enough support. Sometimes they laugh at us when we perform on the streets. We are pleading with the community to support us.”
Vuma Sibiya said, “We don’t get enough support as artists. We lack youth programmes in Malvern. We are pleading with residents to support artists.”
