We are a little concerned regarding negative perception, which may have been created.

I am sure that you intended for the article to have a positive impact.

Edenhaven is able to run its day-to-day affairs based on the income that is generated from the fees received from our residents.

Thankfully this has been the case over our many years of existence.

The home is stable and well managed and does not hang in the balance and our days are not numbered.

As with any property there is always the challenge of upkeep and we spend time ensuring that we do as much as we can with the resources that are available to us.

These resources are, however, stretched when we have bigger projects.

The main projects which would enhance the quality of life of many residents are the building of a lounge for our frail-care residents and then furnishing it and the replacing of the ageing main roof, over a period of time.

Thank you to those who have already offered to help.

We really appreciate it.

The community can follow our progress on our website, which has been donated and is presently being developed. www.fweb.co.za/edenview
