Book sale in Modderfontein well supported
Despite icy weather which could have kept local residents at home, attendance at the Friends of Modderfontein Library July book sale was good.

Buyers found bargain books and loyal supporters donated books.
The August book sale will be held on August 3 from 9am until 1pm outside the library, in Queen Street, Modderfontein.
A wide selection of books, both fiction and non-fiction, including craft books, cook books as well as gardening and decorating books will be on sale at bargain prices. There will also be a variety of books for children and young adults.
Donations of books are accepted and volunteers to assist at the book sale tables are welcome.
The Modderfontein Library will open on August 3 from 9am until 1pm.
Membership of the library is free and prospective members need to complete an application form, produce a copy of their ID documents and proof of residence. This can be in the form of a rates and services account or in case of tenants, a letter from the landlord.
As new membership takes a week to process, the Friends of Modderfontein Library will have a table of books freely available to prospective members to take home and read while their membership is being processed.
Modderfontein Library has a good selection of books suitable for adults, young adults and children as well as a reference section. In addition, every Friday afternoon between 3pm and 4pm Story Time is held where children are welcomed into the library to enjoy stories read aloud to them.
The library will be closed on the Monday following the first Saturday of each month. Queries can be directed to the librarian on 011 608 0421 or e-mail modderfriends@gmail.com
