MP recalls phonecalls

"Besides blaming the ANC, the party of which she is a now ironically a member, I saw no action."

Editor – When one needs to start explaining, then one knows they are losing an argument. This is clearly demonstrated when Ms Van der Molen exposed herself when she actually admitted that she only remembers a relatively recent call I made to her about a matter unrelated to the state of Malvern.

Had she been concerned about Malvern and its residents, she would have reacted to my first call on this issue some 18 months ago.

A Malvern resident of Portuguese descent called me expressing concern over the suburb, a suburb I know very well as I grew up in Malvern.

I immediately called Ms Van der Molen in this regard, as I had promised the resident concerned.

Besides blaming the ANC, the party of which she is a now ironically a member, I saw no action.

How interesting, and revealing, that Ms Van der Molen now does not remember these particular calls I made.

The truth of the matter is that Ms Van der Molen unilaterally joined a political party without a mandate from the people who elected her into council, the residents of ward 118. This is the height of disrespect not only for democracy but for the residents and voters of ward 118.

How dare Ms Van Der Molen talk about the “moral high ground”?
