EDITOR – The young woman featured on page two of the Bedfordview and Edenvale News’ page 2, holding the victim’s head in her hands is my daughter, Mrs Lindsay Smit.
She is a qualified nurse, although not currently practising, and she has assisted at various other accidents on this stretch of road as she lives on Aitken Road.
On Christmas Day last year, her and her sister administered emergency treatment to a family involved in a head-on collision at almost the same spot.
Her commitment to helping people in need is laudable.
Irrespective of the weather conditions, time of day or night and the risk she takes, she does so without hesitation.
