Residents warns against drain blockages

I realise our municipality (ours and every one else's - from National Government down to the smallest poorest council all over the country) does not maintain and repair to a totally satisfactory basis - some do a bit - some try more - some do nothing.

Editor – Residents of Senderwood, St Andrews and Bedford Park, are you all aware that your gardeners are sweeping, blowing, pushing and watering-in all the leaves, flowers, debris etc, from your wonderful trees and pavement gardens, down the drains?

Please do not complain when there are water blockages and no water supply.

I realise our municipality (ours and every one else’s – from National Government down to the smallest poorest council all over the country) does not maintain and repair to a totally satisfactory basis – some do a bit – some try more – some do nothing.

So please, let us all band together to teach, monitor, show, instruct and educate our workers, helpers, house help and ourselves to be careful, aware and to clean and clear properly.

I walk in the above areas daily and I see what goes on.

All the summer leaves, all the jacarandas, all the flowers, all the debris, is swept down the drain. That is where we are all heading.
