EDITOR – Our drains in Highway Gardens are blocked at least six times each year.

Recently our drains were again blocked and raw sewage was running through my back garden and halfway down the front garden.

When we called the number provided by council we were placed on hold for 45 minutes.

This is the sixth or seventh time in the last 12 months that the drains were blocked.

What is going to be done to finally sort this ongoing problem out once and for all?

I cannot continue paying rates and living in this filth and stench, when the municipality is failing in its responsibility to keep infrastructure in proper working order.

There is a tree behind my boundary line.

The roots are blocking the main line between Glenn and Otto avenues.
