EDITOR – July 25, will forever be ingrained in not only my memory, but the memory of my entire family.
Around 8pm Saturday night, three armed assailants entered our premises and held my family members at gunpoint.
We managed to repel this attack, and by the grace of God, are all alive to live to tell this tale.
I would like to extend my eternal gratitude to the Edenvale SAPS and Savika.
Savika was on the scene within minutes of us pressing the panic button, and not even two minutes after they had arrived, Lieutenant Colonel Robbie Roberts was the first policeman on the scene.
He immediately took control of the situation, and calmed my family and I down. Lt Col Roberts and his team of police men and women who helped my family are my heroes. The support we received from Savika, in particularly from Mr Marlin Pillay and his team, was incredible.
I personally would like to thank and commend Lt Col Robbie Roberts, and all his team members of the Edenvale SAPS.
I know recently the Edenvale SAPS has received some bad publicity, but like any organisation there is bound to always be someone who’s bad deeds tarnish the extreme good that others do.
I will not let one gold tooth outshine all the golden hearts of every member of the Edenvale SAPS who attended the crime scene on that fateful night. My thanks go out to all and you are all my heroes.
You guys put your life on the line everyday for us, and this is what makes you extraordinary in my eyes.
I would also like to thank and commend Savika and Marlin Pillay.
Mr Pillay and Dino have worked tirelessly to improve the security situation in Dowerglen. There are many nights that Mr Pillay has personally come out to our house just to see how we are all doing. He is my hero and I just want to say thank you to you and your team for all that you do. Being a security guard is not an easy job, how often do we forget that these men and women who are security guards as well as police men and women, are also people, who have loved ones just like us. They are not rich and barely have enough, but they stand guard while we sleep, they are our guardians at night, they are our angels that stand ready to lay down their lives for us all.
I’m just eternally grateful to God that my family is safe and that we all get to love each other a little bit longer. The good in it all is that my family just grew a whole lot bigger. We thank you all from the very depths of our souls.
