Resident helps frustrated council customers

Who to contact for your meter readings.

EDITOR- In response to a letter from Ms Anita in Highway Gardens about lack of services when contacting the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) published on the November 4, I would like offer my help.

Firstly, I would advise her to not call the council office as they have to handle calls on too many different subjects.

As a result, you would have to hold on for ages to be directed correctly.

However, there is a specific company that deals with meter readings.

They can be contacted via telephone or email.

I suggest Anita calls them first, to establish her cycle number or the date on which her particular meters are read and which date she should call with the readings.

Once you know your reading date, the other alternative is to pop into the council offices in Edenvale.

There is a clipboard at the counter on which you enter your account number, name and the readings. I have been doing one or both of these things for ages and have had no problems with my account.

The numbers I use are 011-8257231/7537. Their email address is: rums@metersol.com. Hope this helps Anita (and other frustrated consumers).
