Dear Editor -A word of appreciation to our capable and committed councillor (Clr Jill Humphreys) for getting things done the only way that councillors can, ie by communicating with diligence and persistence with the metro (Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality) executives and their respective heads of departments.
In response to the article, Clr Humphreys calls for balance, Bedfordview and Edenvale NEWS – 14 September.
As residents we need to give our unequivocal backing for her demands that the crumbling and inadequate infrastructure be upgraded or replaced before further new developments clog our beloved “village” with overflowing sewage and traffic congestion.
We trust that the new executive mayor, of the neighbouring metro (City of Joburg) will also do his part, and take effective action to stem the flow of its sewage (from the city centre through Morninghill) into our backyard.
