Edenvale boxer wins over opponent

Edenvale boxers Darrin Rossouw and Carl van Blerk took to the Emperors ring.

Edenvale’s Darrin Rossouw took on Jami Webb during their six-round junior middleweight bout on the undercard of the Double Down@The Palace Box and Dine Tournament at Emperors Palace on November 25.

In a tough contest, the Edenvale boxer was victorious, earning a unanimous points decision victory.

They also had the honour of boxing in front of heavyweight legend Lennox Lewis, a special guest at the tournament.

SA’s Kevin Lerena beat German-based Albanian Senad Gashi to win the WBC Interim Bridgerweight world title.

On the same night, Ekurhuleni boxers Carl van Blerk of Edenvale and Justin Mostert of Boksburg also went toe-to-toe in an action-packed featherweight bout to open proceedings.

The two youngsters didn’t give an inch during the four-round contest, and the fight ended in a draw.
