Japanese Social Club hosts softball tournament

About 60 companies and more than 200 people attended the Japanese Social Club softball tournament.

The two-day tournament was held at Edenvale Sports Club on February 24 with the finals taking place on February 25.

All participants belong to the Japanese Social Club in South Africa and they host a softball tournament every February.

More than 200 people attended the friendly tournament.

According to tournament organiser, Hiroya Takemoto, the aim of the event is to build friendly relationships between Japanese companies and their employees.

For the first time since its inception, the tournament was held in Edenvale.

“We were very satisfied with the condition of the field and the hospitality shown to us by the owners,” shared Takemoto.

The Japanese Social Club of SA hosted their two-day softball tournament in Edenvale.

Claiming first prize was the Toyota team, second prize went to Mitsui and the third place was secured by the SUNS team.

The most valuable player (MVP) of the tournament was Koharu Ishigame.
